From my last post, you all know that I just spent the last week around Atlanta, Georgia taking care of Grandma as well as fitting in several portrait sessions. I’ll have those on the blog shortly & they won’t disappoint!! It was fun shooting in a beautiful new location & seeing familiar faces. But before I can update you all with those fabulous portraits, I need to get back to wedding season…
Megan & Jason got married in Topeka, Kansas where Megan’s family lives. Jason, on the other hand, is from down South… waaay down South. That would be Australia, so yes- his accent is adorable & I absolutely love the way he says his lady’s name, ‘Meee-gan’ but imagine the Meee super fast. It’s simply adorable! I knew the groom had some friends & family traveling to the states to attend so I didn’t imagine I would actually know anyone at the wedding. However I was pleasantly surprised when I knew one of the bridesmaids, Kelly! I photographed her sister’s wedding a couple of years ago! And when we arrived to the reception, I saw a few others I knew for weddings in the past. Such a small world

This year we are commonly told we remind wedding guests of ninjas… at Megan & Jason’s wedding we were actually shown! This guest approached me after the wedding. He’d actually gone to the trouble of pulling up an image of a ninja on his iphone. I HAD to snap a picture! I’ve embraced this new identity & we’ve decided to have some fun with it… stay tuned to the blog for a fun promotion we’ll be launching in the New Year. We’re going to have some fun give aways!! The promise of freebies always gets some attention.

After Megan stepped into her dress, I took the opportunity to snap a few portraits of her. I thought she looked absolutely lovely in the beautiful light that spilled into the dining room.
The first moments with her father, notice the tears rolling down her right cheek.

I met Megan & Jason for the first time a couple of weeks ago, when I shot their engagement photos (which I just realized didn’t actually post to the blog last week! They are there now!) I always know a lot about my couples after their engagement session. I ask a lot of questions & it’s also part of my job to watch for interaction & capitalize on the moments that happen in between any direction I might give. I really didn’t have to make any suggestions for Megan & Jason, it was clear how much these two adore one another. In fact, Jason can barely keep his eyes off of her! It was the same way on their wedding day- these two are absolutely in love. They make me remember when I first met my husband…

I love this shot, I love how he just smashes his face against her- like he just can’t get close enough.

We had a TON of fun on the shuttle around town. Lots of ‘interesting’ conversations… it’s really interesting the things I learn at weddings.
This is Megan’s little sister & her pup, Rosie. She was trying to get her to speak. It was adorable.. (I think I’ve used adorable just about every other word in this post!)
The best man hide the bridesmaids shoes, they limped back to the shuttle before the groom found them hidden in the house. Russell, aka ‘Poppy’ thought it would be a funny trick to play. I enjoyed it & I think everyone got a few laughs out of it. I have a feeling that this guy plays tricks ALL the time… am I right?

Vegemite… yup it’s actually a real thing & Jason had some for me to try. It comes in little packets like mustard or mayo- but very, very different. The taste is hard to explain…

Tequila shot… these moments are always fun!
The band led off with ‘I come from a land down under’ and as I write this post, this is what I hear in my head. I must say that I thought Private Stock did a GREAT rendition of this song.

Last but not least, we are offering a contest this quarter for all of our weddings! Every comment the bride & groom receive provides them with a FREE 4×6 print!

What truely amazing photos, exceptional even! My favourite would surely have to be where Jason ’smashed’ his nose against Meagan.
So glad i made the trip for my brother’s wedding.
These photographs are outstanding!! Our 2 favorites are “the hug” and the reaction to the ‘well known’ vegemite. All the photos capture the feeling of Jason and Megan’s love for each other, but these two really illustrate their true, spontaneous feelings for each other. What a lovely day, a great couple, and we feel priviledged to have been a part of it.
Buddy, you are a dear, and Jason is a very lucky guy! These photos are wonderful, and what else? with two such beautiful subjects!
Lots of love from us!
Hi Megan and Jason and all the other lovely folk I met whiles in America.
I am from the far, far, south side, or Down Under, as we are termed here in Australia-greetings!
What gorgeous photo’s can’t wait to see more. And of course Megan you were the star of the show- it was certainly your day- you looked exceptional- and as someone has already commented, these photo’s should be shown in a magazine- they are so unique and wonderful.
You both make a wonderful couple. Love you both so much- take care and be strong. love, mum, Brenda Northeast xxxxxx
The photos will be release to Megan & Jason sometime this week (9/7)!
These pics are just great! I love the one with Megan and her dad and the tear rolling down her cheek - brought a tear to my eye! Also the yellow house one AND the dancing one with purple lighting, that’s fabulous!
Big Toot you look sooooo pretty! I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. When will they be out? Adrienne great job!
Joni and I loved the photos and can’t wait until the rest are posted so we can have a group viewing in Key West! It was such an awesome time and even more amazing than photos can express ~ which says a lot since they’re spectacular : )
Meg, you look so incredibly gorgeous!! Love all the pictures and especially the first shot….I can hear Megan’s laugh through the image. Well done, ninjas
Thank you dearly to everyone who has visited the blog (not to mention commenting on how great I look - my self-esteem has gone up tremendously!:))
I’m still trying to figure out the “interesting” conversation I apparently missed on the bus…I’m sure it had something to do with either Alhambra or Lauren’s ability to say anything without embarrassment…
Looking forward to the rest of the pics! (Jane - fyi, more pics to follow. we missed you too but are very happy for you and your family)
The pictures are gorgeous Meagan! I am so sad I could not be there in person. You and Jason looked marvelous. This photographer is amazing. Will there be more that I can look at?
