{fridayFun} Bhumika & Casey

As you know from my last post, last week was a crazy week full of color, ritual & wonderful emotion!  Next up I have some photos to share from a private ceremony Bhumika’s family held the Friday morning prior to her glorious wedding ceremony.  This was a combination of the Ghari Puji & the cleansing ceremony (Pithi).  I didn’t understand much of what the priest was saying, but I did pick out the word ‘photographer’ which was followed by laughter.  Bhumika leaned in towards me & whispered ‘He’s talking about you.’  I laughed & nodded.   Apparently the priest wanted to make sure I got the best pictures- he lead me to spots where I could get the best shots of the upcoming action & he encouraged others not to step in my way.

I liked him immediately!  And thanks to his gracious manner & willingness to work with me, I did manage to catch some shots that would have been impossible otherwise.  Enjoy these shots!  I have plenty more to come!  View this Event here.

And now comes the fun part.. the Pithi ceremony where all of her female relatives & bridesmaids rub her down with turmeric power to begin the cleansing & beautification process.
