Laurel & Paul {weddingDay}

Adrienne MaplesI must admit, I was a bit nervous going into my first phone call with Paul.  He had plenty of  questions about my background in the photographic arts, my experience with film & my views on the digital revolution.  He clearly had a healthy interest in photography & knew what he was talking about.  By the end our our conversation, It felt like the right fit.  We agreed about so many things & I appreciated his love & respect for the craft.  After a rockin’ engagement session (shot during the hot & humid months!),  I knew we’d get some amazing photos on wedding day.

Mom got a little emotional after Laurel was fitted into her dress.

Check out these gorgeous ladies!

This is Laurel’s older sister, Shannon & her cute little girl.  When we showed up, Ashlee instantly recognized her from high school!  I am frequently reminded what a small world we live in.

Here’s Paul trying to wrangle the guys.  They were seriously wandering in a million different directions… I found it pretty hilarious.  I thought this shot perfectly symbolized this herd of fellas!

You can tell that Paul takes portraits of his lovely Laurel all the time.  She is completely at ease in front of the lens & moves gracefully.  Not only was she a fabulous model & one of my happiest brides but she continuously thanked us all day long.  On top of that, I was blown away when I received a wonderful email from them on their honeymoon.  They wanted to again emphasize how much they appreciated us.  It was such a wonderful surprise & really made my day ;) img_1721

The guys were a riot! And there were SOOO many of them… these guys got excited about the purple dinosaur.  It was too funny not to take a few photos.

During the ceremony, Paul accidentally forgot to escort Laurel & the crowd erupted in laughter.  It was a great moment & both the bride & groom laughed right along with everyone.  I love those moments!img_2389

img_1763We have had the MOST amazing colors this year!  I’ve never seen colors this spectacular… ANYWHERE!  I was impressed the first year we moved to Kansas City.  But this year- WOW!  The colors never change like this down South.  Check out the sunset lighting up those gorgeous Fall leaves-

We stepped outside for a few minutes to take advantage of the setting sun & the downtown lights lighting the sky.
