Lovely Day with a Gorgeous Newborn
4
I must admit that, at the moment, my favorite thing to photograph is the sweet perfection of a newborn child. And while I always enjoy my job it is especially rewarding to watch families grow. These days it seems I am always getting a call to hear that a previous bride is expecting. I am always tickled with excitement! This was the case with Ashley & Chris, but Ashley’s mom actually broke the news to me via Facebook!!
I prefer to photograph newborns within ten days of birth. They are still incredibly flexible, super sleepy & pretty laid-back. Hormonal changes can cause baby acne usually occurring around 2-4 weeks. Yes… we have Photoshop, but I want my images to remain as real as possible. If we can catch babies within 10 days, all the better! Ashley was induced a couple of weeks early because of some complications but labor was fairly smooth {12 hours! ugh!} & today everyone is happy & healthy! Meeting with this little family on Easter meant I would see Ashley’s parents and that seemed like a great way to spend the day.
Ashley also runs a fantastic blog called ‘The Domestic Wannabe‘; this made it easy to keep track of her pregnancy :)

Oh! My little grandma made me this aqua cocoon & little hat for my newborn photo shoots!

So sweet & beautiful! I am impressed with how you shoot newborns- these are beautiful.
Ashley’s blog is so fun to read! I hope she still has time for it now that little Ryann is here. Cute little family!!
What CUTE facial expressions by her…so fun to see those on such a tiny baby. I love the ones in the basket with the green hat. Darling pics! (PS: checked out Ashley’s blog too – another one to add to my list!)
Love the cat’s expression! The one where she’s wearing the pink cap is my fav!
