Grace of the Letting Go {Anne & Ryan}
8I try to pick up nuances during every wedding. There is almost always an underlying story, after all. And photographers generally try detect these. But sometimes, in the midst of the grandeur and pageantry of a wedding like Anne and Ryan’s, the story is obfuscated. Don’t get me wrong, this wedding had all of the color, pomp, and splendor usually reserved for one of my daughter’s princess stories. The story wasn’t there, however. Not for me, anyway.
One of the least discussed wedding activities is the bridal hand off. Fathers handle this key event in many ways and with varying levels of success. You’ve probably seen a few yourself. Some play it cool while others lose it completely. But, something struck me during the pre-wedding activities. Anne’s father imbued a rare sense of connection with her. Of course, all fathers display some kind of connection, but his was truly unique and memorable. And so, despite his obviously deep connection with Anne, it was with a rare sense of grace that I watched him give his daughter to Ryan.
I hope you both enjoy this first glimpse as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Such beautiful pictures!!!!
What a beautiful first look. Can’t wait to see all of the pictures. I totally admire your talent.
Thank you!
Thank you for the wonderful blog post, Rob! And the pictures are amazing! Ryan and I are so fortunate to have had such an amazing team capture our wedding!
Oh, well… I do have a tendancy to sneak.. :)
Beautiful moments aside, was that not a gorgeous reception???
Banished ;) I have some pretty fun pictures of you sneaking around the sides of the church. I had a lot of fun up in the pews, though. I had the pleasure of “roping in” the little ring bearer (cutie). I believe that was a first for me!
These are wonderful! I’m thrilled that you could catch such a wonderful moment with her dad since I was banished to the back of the church! I’m actually a little jealous :)
Nice Rob! You got some great shots as usual!!
