Choosing your photographer is a very important personal decision and should be easy and pleasurable as well!. This is a list of common questions associated with hiring a portrait photographer. .To save you time and concerns I have answered each one for you.

Q: .Do you travel to locations for photo shoots?

A: .Yes. . I am primarily a location photographer and I will travel to any location you wish to have featured in your family portraits. . Locations outside the Kansas City area may be subject to a travel fee. Please contact us to get a specific quote based on your needs.

Q: .What if there is bad weather, can we reschedule?

A: Yes. .When booking a portrait shoot I try to take down a secondary date in case of weather complications. .This is especially important if you are planning your family portraits while vacationing in the area.

Q: .What do you suggest we wear?

A: .This is something I discuss during our phone consultation. .Depending on location and the type of shoot, I make suggestions as to what would appear best in your photographs. .For family portraits, I ask that you coordinate your wardrobe together. Ladies should always accessorize but make sure you feel comfortable with what you are wearing. I will send you a clothing suggestions form once you book the shoot.

Q: .What makes your family portraits different than the ones you can get at discount studios?

A: .I am an artist with formal training in the photographic medium. .Rather than having sterile portrait taken in a studio, I travel to a comfortable and unique location to documentary shots of your family. .I spend at least an hour talking with you and shooting at the same time. .I take care to catch the moments that unfold between you and your loved ones. .After the shoot, if feels more like an hour with a friend than a nerve racking experience in a brightly lit studio. When you hire me to do your family portraits, you won't just receive a photograph, but rather a piece of art that features your family.

Q: . What time of day do you schedule your shoots?

A: .I prefer to shoot at sunrise or sunset. .The best natural lighting occurs during this time of day and the film I use corresponds nicely to the beautiful changes in lighting.

TRAVEL

I do travel for any occasion, however it do charge a fee plus expenses if the distance is outside the Greater Kansas City area. I frequently travel to photograph weddings and families on vaction. . I am willing to travel any distance as long as my associated fees are reimbursed. I will be happy to discuss your personal travel plans. .Just give me the details and I can tell you the travel costs.
